During the summer, you often have an open door policy, so make sure your sliding doors open with ease.

Standard sliding glass doors are situated on tracks which guide the roller wheels to help the door open and close smoothly. Over time, the sliding glass door track accumulates dirt and grime.

To clean your door tracks, spray a degreaser onto the tracks, and let it sit for a few minutes in order to soften the grime.

Next, use a toothbrush or wire brush to remove any dirt from the door track. Alternately, wrap a screwdriver in a microfibre cloth, and carefully run it along any hard to reach crevices to remove any built up dirt and grime.

Once all the dirt is removed from the track, use a wet-vac to clean it up. Give the area a final wipe with a dry microfibre cloth.

Spray the entire track with WD-40 or a silicone based lubricant to keep the track working smoothly. Be sure to wipe up any lubricant that may find its way onto the floor, as this can cause the surface to be quite slippery.
